and for 2006 Keighley's Darkest Secrets and the first Malta Ghost Walk
Let
qualified tour leader, Malcolm Hanson, entertain, educate, enthrall and,
perhaps, even scare you...
In 2000
Skipton was awarded money from the Millennium Fund to set up a Millennium Walk around the town. By coincidence I had arrived in
Skipton that week and, looking for something to do with my time, applied
for the post of Millennium Walk guide. To win the job I had to learn the
history of Skipton and, in a very short time, take a group of visitors on
the walk and convince them I was a true-blue Skiptonian with a life-long
knowledge of the town. So it began.
I am
still available to take people on the Millennium Walk if they wish, but
I’ve come a long, long way since those early days, and now my walks and
tours are widespread. The following are all on offer to group travel and
other organisations:-

and visits two murder sites and several
recently discovered haunted buildings, plus some more odd characters and
“Off the Wall” history. This tour lasts approximately 90 mins. It can
be combined with a meal at Bizzie Lizzies Fish Restaurant.

smash, and one “in-the-know” guide. Throw in a luxury coach and
what have you got? THE perfect way to spend an afternoon exploring an enthralling area a few
miles north of Skipton fast becoming known as “Calendar Girls
Country.” This tour has everything: real-life locations - film

Keighley's
Darkest Secrets. This spectacularly frightening ghost walk was the hit of
Keighley Festival 2005, when, for the very first time, Keighley became the
focus for paranormal activity after the festival launch of Malcolm
Hanson's book: Keighley's Darkest
Secrets. This walk includes graveyard ghosts, strange buildings,
satanic cults and violent murders - NOT
for the squeamish! |

The
Ghosts of Malta -
Valletta
Ghost Walk. Created in December 2005, with an informal launch in January 2006,
the Valletta Ghost Walk is a
must for anyone visiting the
Island
of
Malta
. However, until the walk can become fully operational, with Malcolm
Hanson as guide, it will only take place in the winter months, but there
will be a do-it-yourself guide book: Malcolm
Hanson's Do-It-Yourself Valletta Ghost Walk published in the spring of
2006. A mixture of ghosts, haunted buildings and...vampires! |
..."I
have walked with ghosts all my life; in England I have four regular ghost
walks - Haworth, Keighley, Settle and Skipton, while in Malta I now have
Valletta. I have published books that are crammed full of true-life ghost
stories; some drawn from tradition; others direct from the mouths of
interviewees. All have one thing in common: all my ghosts exist or have
existed at one time - and they all form part of my ghost walks - be they
anywhere in the world"...
