Well, who hasn't heard of Calendar Girls?

The film was shot locally and I was fortunate enough to secure a small part myself - look out for me as a member of the press pack ......

I realised that Calendar Girls could change everything the day I provided the service of guide to a visiting coach party. On that day the filmmakers were auditioning locals as extras, and I’d just been accepted. Having mentioned so, the news, like wildfire, went round the coach - the result being that within a short time I had signed and sold 39 copies of my book This Frightful Town - “and forget Skipton,” said the driver, “let’s get off to Calendar Girls Country!” 

I have set up my own “Calendar Girls Country” morning / afternoon or full-day guided visits for coach parties. The route covers most of the main locations seen in the film and combine this with personal anecdotes of my “on set” and behind-the-scenes experiences. Apart from giving a greater insight into the film itself, the stories are very funny and will guarantee a heart-warming experience for all visitors.  

 A typical tour will begin at Skipton where I will join the coach as the guide - this at a time suitable to the coach company. From here we visit the following key sites:

	Burnsall (where the Kilnsey Show scene took place)
	Grassington to Kettlewell (Coniston Fell - scene of the t’ai chi exercises - the Tennant Arms)
	Kettlewell (doubled as Knapeley - here are the W.I., shops and streets all featured in the film)
	Settle (optional) - the market place and shop scenes

In addition to the above, the route passes through Rylstone and Cracoe - the REAL home of the Calendar Girls, and there is an option to stop for refreshments / meal at the Devonshire Arms. Apart from Calendar Girls sights, the route takes us past Bolton Abbey, Barden Tower, and Kilnsey Crag, so there is a great deal to see!

Hire of guide for half day is £80.00 (up to 4 hours)

Hire of guide for full day is £110.00 (up to 8 hours including break)
